Pink Topaz Fauna Ring

I was flipping through an in-flight magazine when I opened a spread with a page of four jeweled rings. The layout of rings was dynamic. Each metallic ring was encrusted with bright and colorful jewels. In the split second I looked at the page I had to draw the rings.

This ring made me smile. It looked like costume jewelry but the price listed in the article told another story. Pink Topaz Fauna ring was a beast. That giant pink topaz roared and demanded attention from admirers and detractors. Keeping the hand lettering loose worked with the style of this illustration.
