Wood Kitchen Tools

When I visit a store with gadgets and supplies for the kitchen I pause at the display of wood kitchen tools to marvel at the variety. Made from different types of woods, shaped and styled to meet the needs of cooking moment, these tools are the work horse and show horse of the kitchen.

I like to draw objects related to the kitchen and cooking. They come in all forms, shapes and sizes. They’re visually interesting. Shapes are open to artistic interpretation. Tools for preparing food symbolize the kitchen as part symphonic hall and part jazz club.

I wanted the hand lettering to relate to the kitchen tools with basic lines and form, no serifs.
